Open-mouthed

I'm not a funny guy.

I ordered a dish of pasta with my favorite mushroom sausage and a cup of lemon tea, picked a seat nearby the window, and started to enjoy my supper.

"I'm not a funny guy,"  said a foreign man in front of me to a lady sitting opposite to him. I supposed there could be a funny conversation going.

One of the reasons I don't like to eat in canteen is I can't hear the conversations between the guys nearby in that noisy circumstances. Overhearing other people's conversation is a relaxing thing as attractive as you read other people's blog, though 99% contents of them are stuffed with nonsense and actually not worth your time. Sometimes people would like to do for 1%.

I didn't see the man's face, because he sat with his back to me. I couldn't see the lady's face either, because her face was hidden behind the man's head. The lady dominated the following conversations with the man, talking in English with a Cantonese accent. No exception, the main topic was a gossip too, about her supervisor's private life. That's not funny. So I got my concentration on reading of Status Anxiety till I heard she saying "research and publications". The following sentence is quoting from hers.

Copy one person's idea is called copy. But combining one hundred persons' ideas is creativity.

It's another example of 99% versus 1%.

Let's sing

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse,
When you're chewing life's gristle,
Don't grumble,
Give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best.
And...
Always look on the bright side of life.
[
whistle]
Always look on the light side of life.
[
whistle]

If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle.
That's the thing.
And...
Always look on the bright side of life.
[
whistle]
Always look on the right side of life,
[
whistle]

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin.
Give the audience a grin.
Enjoy it. It's your last chance, anyhow.
So,...
Always look on the bright side of death,
[
whistle]
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
[
whistle]

Life's a piece of shit,
When you look at it.
Life's a laugh and death's a joke it's true.
You'll see it's all a show.
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And...
Always look on the bright side of life.
Always look on the right side of life.
[
whistle]

Always look on the bright side of life!
[
whistle]
Repeat to fade...
